Etzel-Kavernenbetriebsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG, headquartered in Bremen, was established in 2007 for the purpose of setting up and operating a cavern storage facility in Etzel.

The EKB Storage Facility can store natural gas within 9 salt caverns up to a Working Gas Volume of around 950 million Nm³. The injection and withdrawal capacities of the facility are up to 450,000 Nm³/h and 800,000 Nm³/h respectively. As an innovative and reliable storage operator, EKB offers its customers highly flexible storage services based on transparent and non-discriminatory terms. All firm EKB storage capacities have been completely booked.
